In this course, Chinese characters are selected from Level 4 to Level 6 according to the Chinese Proficiency Grading Standards for International Chinese Language Education, which are commonly used in daily life, have rich usage in word formation, and thus can be applied in various teaching situations, yet easily mistaken by international students. The course explains the respective meanings of the polyphonic characters with different pronunciations, the words they form, and the contexts in which they are used. Since the characters and words are involved in the Chinese Proficiency Grading Standards for International Chinese Language Education, it aims to help learners understand polyphonic characters, which further enriches one’s vocabulary by linking up words. This course consists of 20 lessons, each about 6 minutes, and is taught in English with subtitles mainly in English, while the subtitles for sentences and words are in Chinese.
