Founded in 1956, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine (BUCM) is one of the earliest higher education institutions for Chinese medicine in the People’s Republic of China. It is the exclusive traditional Chinese medical institution that entered the “211 Project” for national development. BUCM inherits and advances the traditional Chinese medicine as its mission. The University consists of 12 schools and 3 affiliated hospitals. It offers 11 undergraduate programs, including Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture, Moxibustion and Tuina, etc., 45 postgraduate programs and 41 doctoral programs.
By now there are a total of 27833 students in the campus. Within this total, 9473 are full-time students, 36.8% of them are Master's and PhD candidates and10.3% are international students. At present, there are 1234 international students from 61 countries, including 1229 students purchasing their degrees.
