Established in 1958, Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TUTCM) is one of the earliest universities of TCM in China. Authorized by the State Education Committee (Now MOE), International School of Traditional Chinese Medicine (ISTCM) was established in 1992 in TUTCM and it is the only international school of TCM in China. It covers 6 areas of study: Medicine, Science, Arts, Management, Engineering and Pedagogy, offers 25 undergraduate programs, 53 master programs, 28 doctoral programs, 3 post-doctoral fellowships(Traditional Chinese Medicine,Traditional Chinese Pharmacology & Chinese and Western Integrative Medicine) and has 4 directly affiliated hospitals and 5 teaching hospitals. There are totally more than 14,000 students in TUTCM. The university has established a long-term and productive cooperation with 77 universities, hospitals and scientific research institutes from 56 countries. There are altogether more than 2,000 international students (more than 1,200 of whom are for degree education) from 60 countries, such as Vietnam, Korea, Japan, U.S.A., Malaysia, Mongolia, etc. coming to the university in 2014.
