Founded in 1933, South China Normal University (SCNU) is a prestigious university in Guangdong Province and a member of “Project 211.” It is a comprehensive university, consisting of diverse branches of learning, such as philosophy, economics, law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, and management. The University has 30 schools and colleges, and offers 83 undergraduate programs, over 200 graduate programs, and over 100 doctoral programs. SCNU is strong in Teacher-training, Pedagogy, and Psychology etc. In recent years,SCNU has been striving to promote the innovation and development in all disciplines in efforts to build itself into a high quality teaching research university and serve the local society. In 2013, there were 25,335 undergraduates, 7177 postgraduates and 797 doctoral candidates. There were also on campus approximately 1500 long-term international students from about 80 countries every year. Among them, there are over 300 Degree-Seeking students. There are 3 multi-functional libraries on three campuses with more than 3.1 million books.
