Founded in 1964, Beijing International Studies University is a nationwide renowned key comprehensive university of higher education and has developed into a multi-disciplinary university incorporating liberal arts, management, economics and law, with the specialties of foreign languages and tourism as its most distinguishing feature. In recent years BISU takes great efforts to develop international students education. Up till now there have been over 8,000 long-term and 2,000 short-term international students from more than 70 countries studying in BISU. Currently, both scale and quality of international students education rank top among the higher educational institutions all over the country. In the year of 2002 and 2004, BISU was honored as Advanced Unit of International Students Education by Beijing Municipal Educational Commission.
